This Italian Tiramisu delivers a rich, velvety dessert with minimal effort. Light mascarpone cream made from whipped egg whites and sweetened yolks creates an airy base, layered with coffee-soaked sponge fingers for deep, aromatic flavour. Each layer is dusted with bitter cocoa for balance, and the final touch—Amaretto cherries—adds a luxurious hint of sweetness. Refrigerated overnight, the dessert sets beautifully, resulting in an indulgent, melt-in-the-mouth treat perfect for entertaining or ending any meal on a refined note.

Ingredients

Bitter cocoa powder
1 large box of sponge fingers
1 cup of coffee
3 very fresh eggs
250 g Mascarpone cheese
100 g sugar
1 packet of vanilla sugar
Amaretto cherries (Fabri)

Instructions

  1. Beat the whites until stiff peaks form.
  2. Mix the egg yolks with the sugar and vanilla sugar. Add the Mascarpone.
  3. Gently fold the whites into the mixture.
  4. Line the bottom of the dish with part of the mixture (Charlotte tin or cups) .
  5. Gently dip the sponge fingers into the coffee and layer on top of the egg mixture.
  6. Sieve the cocoa powder and continue layering the egg mixture and sponge fingers. The last layers should be egg mixture and chocolate powder.
  7. Add some Amaretto cherries on the top.
  8. Refrigerate at least for one night.

Tips

You can line your dish with the sponge fingers vertically to give a thicker consistency.
